Busy schedule :(

Since after celebrating my birthday two weeks ago, I started to get busier with work. That was because my company was invited by SMa to involve in World Cities Summit 2012 which will be held at Sands Expo & Convention Center. It was a great experience for me to learn event planning from Jasmine. However, it was really tedious for us because of we had to do everything, be it designing posters and PowerPoint slides or liaising with event coordinators. Good new is that we are able to take time off-in-lieu after the event. YEA!

This afternoon, we even made a trip to Marina Bay Sands to oversee the setup of our booth. Of course, all of us were there to help out. So, the event is going to commence in less than 24 hours. Hopefully, the event goes smoothly for the next 4 days till 4 July.

Well, I'm quite excited but nervous for the event. Why? Because the mayors and governors from other countries will be there on the 1st day of the event. Plus, our PM Lee and Minister of State will be there on the 1st day and 3rd day of the event respectively. Hopefully, they will walk through our booth. The event is really grand with the involvement of many reputable companies/organisations; therefore, it will be very lucky of us if those governors or ministries walk through our small booth.

Alright, it's time for me to sleep so that I will have more energy to "fight".
Good night peeps!

Advance birthday present ♥

I'm so... so... so busy to update the blog since the start of my work life. Yes, workload is OVER-loaded, but my salary doesn't seem to be overloaded.

Hahaha, but...

I wanna update on my little new toy here. Baby and I went to Suntec PC Fair 2012 yesterday, and Baby decided to get a semi-professional camera for me as I have been aiming to get it since last two months ago.

Tadah~ Here comes my Nikon Coolpix L810!

It was a great buy from PC Fair because they gave many free gifts - 16GB SD card, 8GB SD card, Nikon camera bag, Nikon mini tripod stand, big tripod stand, GP battery charger, 4 GP batteries, 2 Fujitsu batteries, and etc... Okay, this camera is not expensive - only $379 with lots of free gifts!

And, I bought a SanDisk 8GB flash drive for $7.50 only!

Anyway, I'm a happy girl now! I shall bring my toy when I meet my 4Fs on coming Tuesday.

Job-hunting sucks!

Finding jobs really a shit to me! Hell yes, all the craps about minimum requirements and interviews. Why do I say so? Basically, I'm soon to be a fresh graduate (graduating in August 2012, hopefully) without any work experience, so I am looking for jobs which do not require any related experience or they welcome fresh graduates. Okay, when they actually called me for an interview, they talked about what they expect from me. They expect me to be AN EXPERIENCED GRADUATE WITHOUT THEM HAVING TO TRAIN ME??!!! Seriously, what the hell they want?! I supposed you welcome fresh, really fresh graduates? Then now, you tell me that you don't wish to spend time or money on training any fresh graduates.. Okay fine, just strike off "fresh graduates are welcome" in your job advertisement!!

Another thing made me damn mad was that a company actually offered me a job which I think i can learn a lot of basics about human resource management. WOW, sounds great uh? Okay, the salary range offered would be $1600 to $1800. Are you serious?! Do you think I am a cheap labour? Or you think that this salary range is the "market" price for hiring a degree holder to work as HR Executive?

Okay, I am not saying that I'm fantastic or what. What I want to say is these hiring companies should stop contradicting themselves! I really try to calm myself down, but these stupid companies making me so demoralised in finding jobs. I know certificates are not everything, but experience is based on the opportunity given by the companies. So, companies should give us opportunities to learn so that we can gain experience. Experience doesn't appear out of nowhere unless you recruit senior employees (for the goodness sake, please don't include "fresh graduates are welcome" in your job advertisements then).

Fine, just wish me good luck in finding a good company that can offer me a good job with good pay!

Reviews...

Okay, here I am to give reviews on what I have bought last few days ago...

Again, I bought a mascara. Yes, this Loreal Ultra-volume Collagene mascara was on 50% sales, it was so tempting to buy la. Initially, I informed Elvina about the BHG sales and asked her if she wanted me to get one for her. After helping her to buy, I couldn't stop the temptation of buying one for myself too. I currently have 5 bottles of mascara including this. HAHA, how many pairs of eyes do I have?

Anyway, Ultra-volume Collagene is really a good mascara which adds volume to our eyelashes. As compared to Maybelline Falsies (which I bought last time), this one definitely has better effects. Furthermore, it doesn't smudge like what Maybelline mascara do. So, a THUMB-UP for Loreal mascara.

Next, I bought Raspberry Roots Depuffing Eye Gel from The Face Shop. Another good buy! I bought it at $19.40 (U.P. $25.90) because TFS was having 25% member sales. Last few years ago, I tried this range (Raspberry Roots) of sleeping mask before. Not bad, and now they are producing more product of same range, such as eye gel and eye patch. Anyway, I only tried its eye gel for 2 days, so I haven't see any results yet. HAHA, give it some time to show results okay? But I will definitely recommend this range of sleeping mask ya!

Okay, that's all I wanna update. Heehee, it's time for me to sleep! Good night peeps!

Freedom or not?

Hey yo! My student life finally ended after I took the last examination on 28 April 2012. No more examination or project stress! However, I really cannot bear saying goodbye to student life. That is because I rather suffer from exam/project stress than work stress.

Talking about work, I am currently looking for a permanent job. From today onwards, I am going to be hardworking enough to surf net on JobStreet, JobsDB and bla blah bla... But it's really not easy to find a good job, or rather a suitable job for fresh graduates. Those companies either want "lowly-educated" graduates for simple jobs (those jobs opened for GCE 'O'/ITE/Diploma) or very "experienced" people for high-pay jobs. Well, I don't know which category I belong to. I am sure that all of the fresh degree graduates do not want to grab those jobs with very low salary ($1600-$1800) or required less skills (maybe even with ITE/Diploma-cert graduates can apply). If I apply for those jobs, why do I have to study for a degree? Right?

SO, I am going to give myself one month period to look for a suitable job. Hopefully, the sooner the better. Wish me luck! :)
